HOBART

HOBart 2003

Pureness - Clearness - Freshness

Monotype

The original was made in monotype technique. For this so called single print citrus fruits were painted on a glass plate. A sheet of paper is put on this printing plate, rolled over it and taken off again. About 70% of the colour remains on the paper again a unique specimen is depicted. The water is emerged from pastel crayons and wax crayons which can be used with water.

Reduction to the essential

This is the intention of Beate Rohwetter’s motive for the HOBart edition. The colours of this filigree motive are primary colours expressing pureness and clarity which are the result of a purifying process. And these are the characteristics the citrus fruits stand for. In combination with running water they manage to bring back cheerfulness and brilliance to the objects and let them shine in a new gloss.

Beate Rohwetter

Already at the age of 7 Beate Rohwetter, who lives in Appenweier-Zimmern, gained her first experience with oil painting. The first period of artistic creation were objective works, which then turned into expressiveness. She extends her spectrum by challenges. In different styles especially cubism and surrealism.

Realisation of experimentalism is the artist’s notion. Nude portraits, also intuitively marked, take a large part of her creative works. Through confrontation of the abstract she gains new experience.

Her special techniques are:

Painting: Tone, acrylic, water colour, oil, silk, tempera
Graphic: Pencil- and colour pencil , collage, wood engraving, charcoal, pastel crayon, etching, ink
Objects: Plaster- and clay works, acrylic plastics, wood sculptures (chain saw works)

Besides arts she has a web-art-gallery.
